  • How do I use the Online store?

    Step 1: Select a product from our Shop menu or view all the options in our menu by clicking on the SHOP menu
    Step 2: When you have decided on your order, click on the ‘Add to Cart’ button, and either continue shopping or go to your cart by clicking on the pink shopping cart icon in the top right corner. If you have a coupon code, enter it here, and click on the ‘Proceed to Checkout’ button.
    Step 3: Choose to have your cake delivered or pick it up from one of our stores. Select the Date and Time of collection you would like using the calendar and time selector. Choose your payment method and click on the ‘Place Order’ button.
    Step 4: Follow the payments instructions carefully.

  • How do I get a quote for custom cakes?

    Use the online order form to provide as much detail as you can regarding the order. We will provide a quote within 48hours. Alternatively, send us an email with the following info:

    Details of the order: (Flavour, number of people you would like to feed, pictures of the design you have in mind)

  • Are you Halaal?

    No we are not certified Halaal. Some of our cake flavours and desserts include alcohol.

  • Do you allow for walk-ins?

    Yes we can, on most designs, at a small extra charge. Kindly provide the text you’d like on the cake with the correct spelling and details. Keep the message short to fit on the cake.

  • Can we do writing on cakes?

  • Do you make custom cakes?

    Yes we do! We love designing fun new cakes and you are welcome to send pictures of designs you like. Please note, we do not replicate cakes - each cake is a unique work of art.

  • When should I place my order?

    For our standard cakes, we require at least 24 hours’ notice with payment. Time slots for collection in store: 10am | 1pm | 4pm We provide delivery and will do our best to meet your specific delivery time however, this is dependent on our delivery schedule for the day.

  • Cake Care: Must the products be kept in the fridge?

    Yes, please keep the cake in the fridge and take it out an hour prior to serving. Our cakes are best served at room temperature

  • Food Allergies?

    We try our very best to identify ingredients that may cause an allergic reaction for those with food allergies. However there is always risk of contamination as in our bakery we use the following:
    *Gluten
    *Products with nuts & nut by-products
    *Eggs & egg by-products
    *Milk & dairy products
    *Wheat
    Although we have strict cross contamination policies; we cannot guarantee a total absence of these items in any of our products. Customers with food allergies must be aware of this risk. We Like Cake will not assume any liability for adverse reactions from the food consumed, or items one may come in contact with whilst consuming our products.

  • Can I freeze the products?

    No. We would not advise freezing.

  • Can you make bigger cakes?

    We do custom cakes, so yes we can. Our standard cakes come in three sizes: 15cm | feeds 8-14
    20cm | feeds 15-26
    23cm | feeds 25-30

  • How long will the cake keep fresh?

    Our cakes have a 3 day shelf life but uncut can keep well for up to 5 days refrigerated in an airtight container.

  • Do you deliver?

    Yes we do, in and around Johannesburg and delivery is charged per km.

  • Do you do wedding cakes?

    Yes we do. Our style of wedding cakes are rustic, buttercream and ganache cakes with fresh flowers. However, feel free to talk to us if you have something else in mind. Check out our wedding page for more info.

  • Does the food dye color the mouth when eating our cakes?

    Yes, especially with darker shades such as black and purple. Should this be a problem for photos, we advise you pick a lighter shade.

  • Can I cancel or change my order?

    We need 48 hours notice to cancel your order. Custom cake designs require 72 hours for any changes to be made. If you cancel/change your order within the time frame, we will create a credit voucher for you to use at a later stage with the We Like Cake. Cakes ordered within the 24 hours cannot be cancelled or changed.

  • Do you accept cash on delivery?

    We require payment to secure and confirm the booking. Payments can be made via EFT, e-wallet, Zapper or online. The can be paid in cash.

  • Do you offer classes?
